Mourning Joy - Saturday

"I've never known anybody who came to me who I didn't think would probably do a good job if they were elected."

Welcome famous widow, Lindy Boggs, to the club that takes no volunteers.

A Louisiana native, Lindy was elected by special election to the Ninety-third Congress to fill the seat left vacant by her husband, Thomas Hale, who was killed in a plane crash. Lindy was the first woman to be elected to office in her state.

Moon Landrieu once said of Lindy, "When she [is] committed to a position and makes up her mind, you are talking about a very formidable will."

After we remember Him, perhaps we can make a commitment, make up our minds. Go ahead. I dare you. Then write something.

Mourning Joy:

Q: What has 4 legs and only 1 foot?

A: A bed.

Have a joyful day. And remember, we're not alone.
