Mourning Joy

Good Mourning Widows. Joy to you and me.

Welcome famous widow, Mrs. Harry S. Truman, into our special club.

Blue-eyed Bess was an independent woman determined to remain true to herself. She never allowed the White House to change her. She loved roses, the color blue, and Ozark Pudding was her favorite dessert.

Said her daughter, author Margarete Truman Daniel, "My mother, whose public facade has been unvaryingly sedate and whose public utterances have been unfailingly courteous but cryptic, is perhaps the least understood member of our family. She is a woman of tremendous character, which the public may sense, but in addition she is a warmhearted, kind lady, with a robust sense of humor, a merry, twinkling wit, and a tremendous capacity for enjoying life."

Today, after we honor Him, think about a twinkling in your life -- A scrubbed pot, a moonlit sky, a diamond ring --What joyous memories do they bring?

Pick up a pen. Write it.

Do it. Now.

Go ahead. I dare you.

Mourning Joy:

Q: What is alive and has only 1 foot?

A: A leg.

Have a joyful day, Ladies. And remember, we're not alone.
