Mourning Joy

"One of the things Malcolm always said to me is, 'Don't be bitter. Remember Lot's wife when they kill me, and they surely will. You have to use all of your energy to do what it is you have to do.'"

Welcome widows! Joy to you and me.

Today we welcome Betty Shabazz to our joyous club.

Betty's husband, Malcolm X, civil rights leader, was assassinated in 1965 leaving her to raise 6 daughters alone. She returned to school, earned her doctorate, and went on to work as an administrator at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn. She traveled and lectured on civil rights and racial tolerance.

After we remember Him, why not pick up a pen and write something. Write from the heart. Write your inner most thoughts. Write.

Do it. I dare you.

Mourning Joy:

Q: Why did the police arrest the bird?

A: Because he was a robin.

"Let your dreams be your North Star."

Beth Mende Conny

Have a joyful day Widows. And remember, always, we're not alone!

Write from my heart,
