Mourning Joy

"Happy Trails to you. Until we meet again."

Good mourning Widows!

Joy to you and me.

Welcome to the club nobody wants to join.

Today we honor famous widow Dale Evans.

Remember Dale? She was wife of famous "King of the Cowboys" Roy Rogers.

Dale was a prolific author and songwriter and died in 2001 at 88. She married Roy in 1946 and together they went on to "complete 27 films, founded their own production company, and launched the popular television shows, 'The Roy Rogers and Dale Evans Show.'"

Dale outlived Roy 50 years.

Interesting note: "Horses Trigger, Buttermilk, and faithful dog Bullet were all stuffed and mounted for posterity after their natural deaths and may still be viewed by fans" at the museum that bears their names in Victoriaville, California.

After we remember Him, fingerhug your pen.

What memory does the number 50 stir in you?

What about the 1950's?

What about a faithful dog age 50?

Go ahead. Write.

I dare you.

More Mourning Joy:

Q: What kind of can never needs a can opener?

A: A pelican.

Have a joyful day Widows. And remember we're not alone.
