Welcome Mrs. Hank Greenberg (Hank Greenberg)

"Come Yom Kippur - holy fast day world-wide over to the Jew -
And Hank Greenberg to his teaching and the old tradition true
Spent the day among his people and he didn't come to play
Said Murphy to Mulrooney, 'We shall lose the game today!
We shall miss him in the infield and shall miss him at the bat,
But he's true to his religion and / honor him for that."
--Edgar Guest

Good Mourning Widows.

Joy to you and me!

Today we welcome famous widow Mrs. Hank Greenberg wife of famous New York Yankee's Jewish ball player to our joy-ful club.

That's right Widows, the club nobody wants to join.

The club what's membership dues cost -- One Husband -- YOURs!

Little is known about Mrs. Hank Greenberg.

Hard as I tried to locate a first name for Hank's wife, everything turned up praises for Hank. Hank is beloved by all Jews for honoring his faith and not playing in a baseball on Yom Kippur.

One newspaper did mention her by name: "Mrs. Hank Greenberg."

After Hank's death, Mrs. Hank Greenberg donated many of her husband's baseball memorabilia to museums.

Hank Greenberg was the first Jewish baseball player to be admitted to the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Mourning Joy:

Q: What did the doctor say to the man who complained he was shrinking?

A: You will have to be a little patient.

--Roger Long

Mourning Quote:

"Good writing always creates negative comments."

--Suzanne Lieurance

After we remember Him, let's hug our pens.

Capture the moment. The one tucked neatly in our hearts.

Let it out.

Go ahead.

I dare you.

Have a joy-filled day Widows. And remember, we're not alone.
