Marlena Librescu (Mrs. Liviu Librescu)

"The people of Israel grieve with all who have been touched by this horrible tragedy and pray for the speedy and complete recovery of the wounded and for the families of those who lost their loved ones."
Israel's ambassador to the United States, Sallai Meridor.
Good Mourning Widows. Joy to you and me.
Today we welcome famous widow, Marlena Librescu, wife of famous Holocaust survivor and Professor of Engineering and Science of Virginia Tech, to our club.
Liviu Librescu is credited for throwing himself in front of a gunman as he entered his classroom, creating a human shield, thus, saving countless students' lives as they jumped from classroom windows to avoid being shot by their crazed classmate.
Liviu was 76 years old.
He leaves his wife, Marlena and two sons, Joe and Arie.
Marlena has chosen to leave Virgina forever. She is returning to Israel to bury her husband and be with the only family she has -- her two sons.
Note To Marlena: Words cannot express my sincere sorrow on the tragic death of your beloved husband, Liviu Librescu. I wish you and your boys mourning joy all the days of your lives.
Mourning Joy:
Q: What kind of illness does Bruce Lee get?
A: Kung flu!
Mourning Quote:
"In Israel, in order to be a realist, you must believe in miracles." --David Ben Gurion 1886-1973
Today, after we remember Him, say a prayer.
And remember, we're not alone. Though, I wish we were, if you know what I mean.
