Jennifer Courneya (Mrs. Daniel W. Courneya)

"He'll be remembered as a local kid who left here because he wanted to do something with his life and came back a hero." --Dennis Van der Hoef, Pfc. Daniel W. Courneya's band teacher

Good Mourning, Widows. Joy to you and me.

Welcome famous widow, Jennifer Courneya, wife of famous killed-in action US soldier, Army Pfc. Daniel W. Courneya, to our joy-ous club. The club nobody wants to become a member of. Ever.

Pfc. Courneya was killed in Iraq, May 12, 2007, fighting to keep you and me safe. He hailed from Vermontville, Michigan.

Pfc. Courneya was 19 years old.

We salute Pfc. Daniel W. Cournea's memory, we thank him for his valor, we thank his family for suffering the supreme sacrifice to keep our Nation free and we wish them mourning joy all the days of their lives.

Mourning Joy:

Q: What's long and green and goes "hith, hith"?

A: A snake with a lisp.

Mourning Quote:

He that outlives a wife whom he has long loved, sees himself disjoined from the only mind that has the same hopes, and fears, and interest; from the only companion with whom he has shared much good and evil; and with whom he could set his mind at liberty, to retrace the past or anticipate the future. The continuity of being is lacerated; the settled course of sentiment and action is stopped; and life stands suspended and motionless. - Samuel Johnson

After we remember Him, fingerhug your pen. Open your joy-nal. Set the timer for ten.

The topic is: My hopes and fears and interests are...

Write something. Go ahead. I dare you.

Have a joy-filled day, Widows. And remember, we're not alone.
