Lady Bird Johnson (Mrs. Lyndon Baines Johnson)

LBJ's famous words -- "I will not seek, nor will I accept, the nomination of my party" -- were written by his wife, Lady Bird Johnson

Good Mourning, Widows. Joy to you and me.

Welcome famous widow and famous First Lady responsible for beautifying our country, Lady Bird Johnson, wife of famous 36th President of the United States, Lyndon B. Johnson, to our joy-ous club.

Today, we honor Lady Bird's passing.

Lady Bird died Wednesday, July 2007, in Austin, TX. She was 94.

Lady Bird was instrumental in her husband's political career, advising him gently and is responsible for the Highway Beautification Act of 1965 , the 1st major legislative act initiated by a first lady.

She championed Head Start, the early childhood development program.

Lady Bird leaves their two daughters, Lynda Bird and Luci Baines. We wish them mourning joy all the days of their lives.
