Good Mourning, Widows. Joy to you and me.
Today we welcome famous widow, Margaret Cimino, wife of famous ex-Westchester County, New York, hospital chief, Dr. Joseph Cimino, to our joy-ous club, the club nobody wants to join. Ever.
Margaret's husband, Dr. Joseph Cimino, was a graduate of Harvard College and received his medical degree from the University of Buffalo. He also received two master's degrees in industrial health and public health, from Harvard.
In 1974, then County executive, Alfred DelBello, recruited Margaret's husband, Dr. Cimino, to serve as hospital commissioner.
Said DelBello, "It was Joe Cimino who came forward and said what the Hudson Valley really needs is not another community hospital, but it needed a tertiary care center."
Dr. Joseph Cimino died July 1, 2007. He was 73 years old.
Margaret Cimino has their five grown daughters, Margaret, Andrea, Linda, Lisa, Laura, and seven grandchildren to see her through the grief process.
