Mourning Joy - A Tuesday - Thank you, Steve!
"Let's dare to be ourselves, for we do that better than anyone else can."--Shirley Briggs
Good Mourning Everyone! Joy to you and me.
Today is sunny and bright; buffalo clouds peg a turquoise colored sky. Channel 2's weatherman, Harry Smith, promises a rainless day and low humidity. Outside Griefcase Incorporated's office window, a blue jay squawks loudly. Must be my small dog's little cat, Tux, perched atop a tall fence ledge.
Ahhhhh, mourning joy.
I'm sitting typing on the lap top preparing for an outing, recalling a past weekend, the one I shared with a favorite family, getting to know a favorite son, his name is Steve, age 13.
Steve is greased lightning in swim pants and the thought of him jumping off the port side of "The Enchantress" into the Long Island Sound sates my senses.
Ahhhhhh, more mourning joy.
Thank you, Steve, wherever you are!
After we remember Him, fingerhug your pen. Open what I lovingly refer to as a joy-nal, and write something.
I dare you.
Have an abundantly joy-filled day, Everyone! And remember, we're not alone.
And that's the way it is 20 miles north from where the World Trade Center use to be.
