Muriel Buck Humphrey (Mrs. Hubert Humphrey)

"Hubert, a speech doesn't have to be eternal to be immortal." --Muriel Humphrey

Good Mourning, Widows. Joy to you and me.

Welcome famous widow, US Senator Muriel Humphrey, wife of famous US Senator, Hubert Humphrey, to the club nobody wants to joy-n.

Muriel was appointed to the US Senate to fill the vacancy caused by her husband's death. She served from January 25, 1978 to November 7, 1978.

Muriel Buck Humphrey resided in Plymouth, Minn. until her death on September 20, 1998. She was 86.

Mourning Joy:

Something my grandmother told me: Don't wear polka-dot underpants under white shorts.

After we remember Him, fingerhug your pen. Open what I lovingly refer to as a joy-nal, set a clock timer for ten minutes, and write something.

Go ahead.

I dare you.

Have an abundantly joy-filled day, Widows. And remember, we're not alone.

  1. I like your grandmother, she seems very smart.

I find it very interesting how much power & roles the wives of men in the government have & what they take on only because of their husbands, do you think it would be the same if things where switched around?
