WALK WITH KAREN - 9/9/07 - CTY CTR, WHITE PLAINS, NY 10:00 AM

In Loving Memory of Karen Doty
1952-2007
We Walk.
Stumble.
Fall.
Get up.
Stumble again.
We keep moving.
Always moving forward.
Just walk.
It will be okay. --Taken from a card sent to me from Karen Doty
Inside the card, Karen wrote:
"My dear Linda -
Yes, I've thought of you often! Some people come into our lives at a particular time for a reason. Both you and Ed touched my heart & spirit. I vividly recall our times 'on the floor' in your bedroom. (We need to smile on that one adventure of a night:))
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for remembering my words. It truly speaks of friendship and memories.
You've come a very long way, and I'm sure it has not been easy. I'm very proud to have been a part of your journey.
I would love to get together and 'catch up'.
Warmly - Karen"

  2. Here's a poem for you to meditate on when you take your walk. Damn, wish I had written it. Thank you Dan Fogelberg for writing this pearl of widom.

    Joy at the start
    Fear in the journey
    Joy in the coming home
    A part of the heart
    Gets lost in the learning
    Somewhere along the road.
    Along the road
    Your path may wander
    A pilgrim's faith may fail
Absence makes the heart grow stronger
    Darkness obscures the trail.
    Cursing the quest
    Courting disaster
    Measureless nights forebode
    Moments of rest
    Glimpses of laughter
    Are treasured along the road.
    Along the road
    Your steps may tumble
Your thoughts may start to stray
But through it all a heart held humble
    Levels and lights your way.
    Joy at the start
    Fear in the journey
    Joy in the coming home
    A part of the heart
    Gets lost in the learning
    Somewhere along the road
    Somewhere along the road
    Somewhere along the road.

    Lyrics and Music: Dan Fogelberg

    Love ya, Taryn
