Debra Welsh, almost widow (Army Sgt. Emerson N. Brand)

"He was always such a giving person. He brought so much love." --Debra Welsh, fiancee

Good Mourning, Everyone! Joy to you and me.

Today we honor and welcome into the club nobody wants to join, famous fiancee, Debra Welsh, almost-wife of famous Army Sgt. Emerson N. Brand.

Sgt. Brand was 29 years old and hailed from Rigby, Idaho. He was killed March 15 by a roadside bomb in Baghdad. This was his second deployment to Iraq. Brand also served in Kosovo.

To every member of Army Sgt. Emerson N. Brand's family, and to fiancee, Debra Welsh, Griefcase extends sincerest condolences. We are a grateful Nation, and we wish you mourning joy all the days of your lives.

Mourning Joy:

Something I learned from my dog: Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.

After we remember Him, fingerhug your pen. Open what I lovingly refer to as a joy-nal, set a clock timer for ten minutes, and write something. Go ahead. I dare you.

Have an abundantly, joy-filled day, Everyone! And remember, we're not alone.
