"A friend is a present you give yourself." --Emerson
Good mourning, Everyone. Joy to you and me!
Today we honor and welcome into the club nobody wants to joy-n, famous widow, Estell Gariepy Swain, wife of famous husband, Nason Swain.
Estell and Nason were married at St. Paul's Episcopal Church on Nantucket November 1, 1986. Nason died Saturday, November 24, 2007. He was 86.
Mr. Nason was a World War II veteran of the United States Navy.
Estell has their five grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews to see her through her grief journey.
To Estell Nason, Michael and Emily Beckwith of Boxford, Mass., Scott Callas of Woonsocket, Edward Nason O'Donnell of Greenville and Neysa Callas of Naples; and every member of the Swain family, Griefcase extends wishes for mourning joy all the days of your lives.
Something heard on the streets of Nantucket during Christmas Stroll:
"Honey, if we stroll today, do we have to stroll tomorrow?"
Wind blusters the cobblestoned streets of Nantucket this sun-filled morning. Out my window overlooking Centre Street where I sit and type on a borrowed computer, I see passersby bundled in overcoats, a blue jeep, a garbage truck, a van the color of snow, and a man pushing a baby carriage.
What is outside your window today? What is it you see?
Why not open what I lovingly refer to as a joy-nal, fingerhug your pen, and write something.
I dare you.
Have a joy-filled day, Everyone!
