Jerry J. McEwen, Nashville, TN

"He was a good man." --Cynthia Wilkins

Good Mourning, Everyone!

Joy to you and me!

Today, we pay tribute to Jerry J. McEwen, age 54, of 1203 Coarsey Drive, Nashville, TN.

On Tuesday, December 18, according to Tennessean.com Middle Tennessee's #1 Online News Service, Jerry, while on a shopping errand, witnessed a stranger being robbed--A purse-snatcher grabbed a 60-year old woman's purse.

Unselfishly, and true to his helping heart, Jerry gave chase to the would-be thief, an ex-convict, Robert Williams, age 52. It cost him his life.

Jerry was mortally stabbed and lay dying in a Kroger's parking lot while Williams made his escape.

To Jerry J. McEwen's family, friends, coworkers, and especially to Yvonne Perry, author and personal friend, Griefcase extends sincerest condolences and mourning joy all the days of your lives.

After we remember Him, fingerhug your pen. Open what I lovingly refer to as a joy-nal, and write something.

Go ahead.

I dare you.

Have a joy-filled day, Everyone! And remember, we're not alone.

  1. Thank you for posting this about our Jerry. He was a terrific person to know. He blessed the lives of many. The photo you posted is that of his murderer.

  2. We loved Jerry so much, and we still miss him every day. The world is a little darker without him in it.

Yvonne actually introduced us to him! God, he was an amazing man.
