Mourning Writing Prompt - January 2008 - A New Beginning

I love doors. I like to open them, to close them, and set them ajar to let a soft summer breeze billow cotton curtains the color of snow.

Did you know that the month of January is named for Janus (Ianuarius), who in Roman mythology was the god of doorways?

Did you know that the word for door in Latin is Ianua?

Why not let January be your doorway into your New Year!

Why not fingerhug your pen, set a clock timer for ten minutes, an open what I lovingly refer to as a joy-nal, then write something.

The picture I've selected to motivate us this cold wintry day is by Jerri Johnson

Do you like red door? Why? Why not?

What is on the other side of the door? What isn't?

What does your mind's eye see? The possibilities are endless.

Go ahead. Write something.

I dare you.

Let January 2008 mark a new beginning -- YOURS!

Have a joy-filled day, everyone! And remember, we're not alone.
