Gillian "Jill" Plumber Lights a Candle For Bob

Today Griefcase lights a candle honoring the memory of Bob Plumber, husband of Gillian "Jill" Plumber and member of the club nobody wants to join.

Jill's husband, Bob, died less than one year ago.

Jill writes:

"I know this is a common feeling but I really miss Bob at this time of the year. I am going to a friends for lunch tomorrow and I will be ok I know. Put on the red Christmas dress, earrings and do the face up and have fun. Bob would want that I know. Just seems a bit hard at times."

...And makes the following request:

"ps Love reading the site. How can I light a candle for Bob there like you did?"

From Griefcase to Jill:

Dear Jill,

Sincerest condolences on the death of your husband. Please know that Griefcase is honored to light a candle for your Bob.

As every member of the club nobody wants to join knows, grief takes no holidays. Grief is like a tunnel--Can't go over it; can't go around it; can't go under it--We just gotta go through it. Accept your feelings of missing Bob. Embrace them. They are real and they are normal *whatever normal is*. Our lives are different now without Him by our side--Here's to moving forward, one baby step at a time.

Oh, yeah, and one more thing--YOU're doing great!

Have a JOY-ous and Merry Christmas.
